  • Supreme Court votes to remove price floor ban
    The Supreme Court ruled Thursday in a 5-4 decision that retailers and manufacturers can set price floors on products if the minimum prices promote competition, overturning a 96-year-old ban on such practices. The longtime ruling "is inappropriate, and there is now widespread agreement" that price floors can boost retail competition, wrote Justice Anthony Kennedy in support of the ruling.   • Mack, Volvo support fuel-reducing project
    Mack Trucks Inc. and its parent company Volvo Group are working with the governments of the U.S. and Sweden to reduce the consumption of fossil fuel by heavy-duty trucks, said Mack Trucks President and CEO Paul L. Vikner. The project will include developing hybrid technology and improving fuel economy.
